After a meeting with her security, health and government teams, the mayor of Bogotá, Claudia López, gave a piece of tranquility for the people of Bogotá. Although he acknowledged that in recent days there has been an acceleration in the number of infections by covid-19, and also a significant record of fights, he said that there is no risk of collapse of the hospital system.

“The urgent and emergency regulation center notifies us that patients have been assigned to hospitalization, intensive care, that the average occupancy is 65% of covid use, and we do not have a risk concern at this time,” said López .

For this reason, he explained that it will not be necessary to make the biosafety measures that are already in force in the country’s capital more extreme, but he invited citizens to continue respecting them.

“I want to continue asking people to take care of themselves, that we continue to comply with the peak and cédula, that we try to lower crowds, some have left the city, others are arriving, so far we continue to have an ICU covid occupancy of 65% and CRUE does not bring us any major difficulties ”, he specified.

Finally, he highlighted that in recent days there have been a notable decrease, above 50 percent, in the effects of gunpowder and insecurity.
