There were no gunpowder burns in Cali during the Christmas celebration: Ministry of Health

During the Christmas celebration there were no gunpowder burns in Cali, according to the balance delivered by the Municipal Health Secretariat on the afternoon of this holiday Friday.

Although the use and distribution of fireworks in the city is prohibited, many Caleños use these elements during the holiday season and New Year’s Eve.

To date, the firm has registered twelve gunpowder injuries (two of them are minors), which represents a reduction of nine cases compared to last year.

Most of the 2020 reports were made after the celebration of the Day of the Candles, on December 7.

The health authorities call for not lowering our guard and avoiding at all costs the use of these devices that also affect pets.

It is worth mentioning that next Sunday the final of the Colombian soccer tournament between América de Cali and Santa Fe will be played, an event for which special measures such as curfew and dry law were decreed.

There is expectation in the city before the possibility of agglomerations, caravans and that the indiscriminate use of gunpowder will lead to more injuries.
