Two minors, ages 2 and 5, and their father died after a tanker truck overturned on the vehicle where they were mobilizing this Friday morning.
At the scene of the accident, which occurred at 8:30 am in the Ciudad Bolívar, in Bogotá, the 5-year-old boy and his father lost their lives. While the youngest of 2, who after the tragedy was confined in a health center in the capital, died this Friday night after fighting all day for his life in an ICU.
In the car were the two parents and their four children. Lhe other members of the family receive care and are under a reserved prognosis.
The Director of Citizen Security of the National Police, Carlos Rodríguez, stated that the incident is under investigation to establish whether any of the two drivers involved was driving under the influence of alcohol.
“A tank vehicle has a rollover and falls into a car that was transporting mother, father and four children. Of this misfortune the father and a child under 5 years old dies. The other people are in medical care (…) the basic unit is already carrying out this investigation in order to clarify the possible hypotheses of this incident ”.
The tanker truck driver was taken to a clinic in the city where he receives medical attention under reserved forecast.
