The ‘pico y cédula’ returns to Bogotá: this is how the measure will govern between December 21 and January 15

Given the worrying speed of contagion by covid-19 in the city, Mayor Claudia López announced that starting next Monday, December 21 and until next January 15 The peak and ID measure will be resumed, and only one member per family nucleus will be able to go shopping.

The president affirmed that these two measures of care are being taken up again to slow down the rate of infection and avoid a bitter end of the year.

“In the last two weeks the speed of contagion has increased, because a lot of people are letting their guard down. We have tried to have an enormous awareness and accompaniment to families and businesses, but we cannot relax. If we do not take additional measures, we will end up having a bitter end of the year and that is not what we want ”Lopez said.

This is how the measure will govern

The peak and ID will begin to apply from 00:00 hours on December 21 to enter any establishment where activities such as the acquisition and payment of goods and services are carried out; purchase of any product at retail and wholesale. Also for banking, financial, notarial and citizen service procedures in public entities.

The measure will be applied in the same way as it was done in July of this year for restaurants, supermarkets, mini-markets, shopping centers, banks and notaries. On odd days, people whose identity card or identity document ends in an odd digit will not be able to access these services and establishments.

On even days, people whose identity card or identity document ends in an even digit will not be able to access these services and establishments.

Only health centers, pharmacies and funeral services will be exempted from this new measure. Additionally, in cases of notarial, banking, financial and administrative services and procedures where the simultaneous appearance of two or more people is required, the exception will also apply.
