The mayor of Cali, Jorge Iván Ospina, took advantage of his intervention in the middle of the television special of President Iván Duque in which Covid-19 issues are addressed and asked him that the Colombian soccer final be by open signal. This in order to avoid crowds and contagions between fans.
“We want to ask you, Mr. President, for the possibility of an open signal so that communities congregate at home and not have to go to other places. These are decisions for life, lives that you and I take care of ”, was the intervention of the Caleños president, referring to the final games to be played on December 20 at Pascual Guerrero in Cali and on December 27 at ‘El Campín ‘of Bogotá.
In this regard, Duque was interested in said proposal but stressed that it is a private decision. The President of Colombians hopes to reach an agreement for the benefit of Colombians, especially with health in mind.
“Your proposal is very interesting. Obviously, this is a matter that is handled in the private sphere, but Minister Lucena has also shown all the will to explore possibilities. It is not simply a sporting event that generates anxiety and excitement in Colombians, but we must also avoid crowds. As it is a private decision, what we hope is to find mechanisms and solutions, ”said Iván Duque.
It should be noted that the television rights belong to the Win Sports channel, which has the final scheduled for its premium signal.
