Toni Standen, a 29-year-old British woman, deceived her family and friends saying she had terminal cancer and that her last wish was to have the wedding she always dreamed of with the love of her life.

The scammer also said that she wanted her father, who did have cancer, to accompany her to the altar, although he did not succeed because he died before the big day.

The heartbroken father, however, left a moving video for his supposedly ill daughter that was screened during the marriage.

Nobody wanted the young woman to die without fulfilling her dream and they created a site to collect the money that would allow her to get married.

They raised 8,500 pounds, more than 11,300 dollars, and that is how Toni had a wedding with 150 guests in 2019 and, in addition, she had the luxury of enjoying her honeymoon in Germany, the Czech Republic, Austria, Hungary and Italy.

At the beginning of the year, the scammer said that she supposedly had two months to live and weeks later they posted on her Facebook that she had passed away with her family and friends.

However, the woman came out to deny it shortly after saying that her account had been hacked.

But his lie came to light when in April he revealed that he had coronavirus
and everyone began to ask about his health, until he finally confessed the deception.

The woman now faces a trial in England
And, according to the newspaper Mirror, it appears that she will have to return all the money that her friends generously raised for her.
