(CNN) – An 81-year-old man named William Shakespeare was the second person to receive the coronavirus vaccine from Pfizer and BioNTech outside of clinical trials.
Shakespeare, known to friends as Bill, is a patient in the frailty ward of a hospital in the English city of Coventry, said Lynda Scott, a spokeswoman for Coventry and Warwickshire University Hospitals.

He had some paintings made by his grandchildren nearby when he received the injection Tuesday and went to rest soon after.
The UK’s National Health Service began its largest immunization campaign to date when the first dose of the Pfizer and BioNTech vaccine was administered to Margaret Keenan, a 90-year-old patient, early Tuesday morning.
Meanwhile, George Dyer became one of the first people in London to receive the Covid-19 vaccine, at Croydon Health Services.
And nurse Joanna Sloan was the first person in Northern Ireland to receive the vaccine.
