The family had been in a prayer chain for the health of the professional for 7 days.
On the afternoon of this Sunday, November 22, the unfortunate death of doctor Jorge Alberto Cardona, director of the IPS Humanizar Salud Integral, was reported.
The health professional had been in the intensive care unit of the San Juan de Dios hospital in Armenia for 8 days as a Covid-19 patient, however, according to the departmental secretary of Health, Yenny Alexandra Trujillo Alzate, it still cannot be confirmed the death was for that reason or another complication.

The doctor Cardona was the husband of the current secretary of Economic Development and director in charge of Corpocultura, Margarita María Ramírez Tafur. Remembered for his professional dedication, the surgeon, a graduate of the University of Quindío, was also the manager of La Misericordia de Calarcá hospital.
