5 older adults deceased, balance of the pandemic this Sunday before the candles
The Covid-19 pandemic continues to rage, to a greater extent, with the generation that built the daily history of Quindío in the 20th century. This Sunday, the report of the Ministry of Health gives an account of 5 deaths: 3 men, 70, 74 and 84 years old, and 2 women 70 and 83 years old.
Since the pandemic began, 123 men and 58 women have died, between the ages of 70 and 79; 87 men and 43 women, over 80 years old, and 68 men and 38 women who were between 60 and 69 years old.
Which means that, according to the statistics of the departmental health department, 417 of 488 deaths from Covid-19 in Quindío were over 60 years old.
Hence the importance of keeping biosecurity measures especially to protect the elderly. In the other age groups, the impact has been less, for example: 15 women and 25 men have died, between 50 and 59 years old; 6 women and 14 men between 40 and 49 years old; 4 women and 5 men, between 30 and 39 years old, and 1 woman and 1 man, between 20 and 29 years old.
On this Sunday, prior to the celebration of the candles, the department of Quindío also reports 211 new positive cases for Covid-19 located as follows: Armenia 131, Calarcá 40, Montenegro 15, Circasia 6, La Tebaida 5, Filandia 3 , Salento 2, Córdoba 1, Génova 1 and Pijao 1.
