This Monday, May 11, 12,210 companies will operate again in Medellín, generating 201,461 formal jobs. This is indicated by the calculations made by the Technical Table for Economic Impact Measurement, in which the Mayor’s Office of Medellín and different business associations participate.
Among the authorized companies are some of the manufacturing sector such as the manufacture of motor vehicles, computer products, furniture, machinery and equipment. In addition, companies related to the services and maintenance of automobiles, technology and agricultural machinery.
Some wholesale trade activities are also exempt, specifically from vehicles and auto parts, furniture and household goods, and retail, such as the distribution of pet products, building materials, hardware, fuel, books, newspapers and stationery.
“Our purpose from the Mayor’s Office of Medellín is to guarantee that all these companies can operate without neglecting the health and well-being of all our inhabitants”, indicated the secretary of Economic Development, Paola Vargas González.
Companies and their employees must register their data in the Medellín Me Cuida platform. Employers must attach the biosecurity protocol, which will be reviewed to verify that the requirements that guarantee the health and well-being of workers are met.
Likewise, from the Technical Table of Economic Impact Measurement it is stated that there is an urgent need to encourage staggered schedule strategies in companies to avoid crowds in public transport and common places.
“We are going to work hand in hand with the public conglomerate but also with companies and transporters to ensure that the jobs have all the necessary requirements to protect the employee, that they can be transported safely, and that they only have to travel to their office if it is strictly necessary ”, emphasized the official.
In context: Remember: The companies that reactivate from this Monday must register on the Medellín Me Cuida platform.
