Right back Yan Couto has spent the past few days as a Coritiba player before reinforcing Manchester City. The trip to England is scheduled for the middle of the year, when the young man turns 18, but it will depend on the coronavirus pandemic.
Yan Couto is still focused on Coxa, so much so that he supports at least one farewell game, but he, of course, already thinks of City. The right back reveals that he has already met with the Brazilian trio from the English club, goalkeeper Ederson, defender / midfielder Fernandinho and striker Gabriel Jesus.
– I already had coffee with the three of them, they received me very well, they paid attention to me, they played games … I had a closer relationship with Fernandinho. Last year, I already had dinner with him. When I went in February, I had dinner again, even with the family. But all three are good people. I hope we stay close and that I can get closer to the group. They will definitely help me with this.
Coritiba can receive up to 12 million euros for Yan Couto: 6 million for the sale itself and up to 6 million in bonuses for accomplished objectives.
Yan Couto is silver from the house of Coritiba and has calls for the U17 team, he was even the holder of Brazil when he won the World Cup in the category. On the trip to England in February, in addition to the Brazilian trio, the young man was also able to converse with coach Pep Guardiola.
– When I went in February, I already had a conversation with Guardiola and the directors too. They wished me welcome and good luck too. It is a very special moment for me, the realization of a dream. Of course, I still haven’t introduced myself to the club. I have been talking to the representative of the city in Brazil. He keeps informing me, but, for now, he has no filing date.

Despite having everything closed with City, in a negotiation that can generate up to 12 million euros for Coritiba, Yan Couto is still focused on the Paraná club. Even with football paralyzed and so vague, the young man celebrates a farewell match.
– I hope to make my last game for Coxa. I will miss the club very much, a club that I love, the fans received me very well, the club too. Just thanks. I hope I can play my last game and say goodbye for a while. In the first games, I think I was able to do very well, contribute to the team. I managed to develop well. A little nervous, of course, but it’s part of that. I hope to help Coritiba even more.
Promoted to the Coritiba core group in January, Yan Couto has two games for the core team: 2-0 against Cianorte, when he entered the second half, and 1-1 with Toledo, when he played the full game. It is, therefore, 145 minutes in the green shirt.
