Xiaomi creates technology to recharge cell phones remotely | Mobile phone

Xiaomi has presented a new wireless remote charging technology that promises to revolutionize the mobile phone market. Called My Air Charge, it has the proposal to leave the smartphone in any corner of the room or bedroom and, even so, receive energy. The device must be able to power multiple devices simultaneously without connecting any cables or using a charging cradle.

The technology is different from current wireless chargers, as they still rely on contact or proximity to the base and work by induction. At the moment the charger is only a demo and is not ready for sale yet.

According to Xiaomi, the technology is capable of delivering 5W of power to each device within a radius of a few meters from the base. The charge core is based on spatial positioning and energy transmission. This base is an isolated load cell with five antennas that accurately determine the distance from the cell phone or mobile device.

After locating the position of the phone, a control matrix made up of 144 antennas transmits millimeter waves directionally through magnetic beams.

The receiving device must also be compatible with the technology. This means that the device must have a special antenna, which is a rectifier circuit that transforms electromagnetic waves into electricity.

This receiver is composed of a controller Lighthouse, which transmits the position information of the device, and through a set of 14 receiving antennas that convert the magnetic signal from the base into electrical energy.

Xiaomi also claims that multiple devices can be charged at the same time, each receiving 5W of power, and that physical obstacles do not reduce charging efficiency.

In the near future, the Chinese manufacturer hopes that the technology can be used to charge smartwatches, bracelets and other wearable devices as well. Xiaomi also claims that it plans to include technology in electronics such as speakers and table lamps soon so that users have a completely wireless experience.

However, it is important to remember that the model is still only a technological demonstration, with no expected arrival on the market.
