Hundreds of women and supporters gathered in Washington and other cities in the United States this Saturday (17) to protesting the appointment of Amy Barrett, a judge who considers conservative, for the Supreme Court.
Barret was appointed by President Donald Trump to fill the vacancy of Judge Ruth Bader Ginsburg, who died less than a month ago and was a leader of the liberal wing.
The United States Senate began the approval process for Barret on Monday.
The protesters are asking the Senate to suspend Barrett’s confirmation process. Republicans want to confirm Barrett before the November 3 presidential election.

Married and a mother of seven, Barrett is Catholic and tends to have a conservative perspective on issues such as the legalization of abortion, a practice allowed in the United States by a 1973 Supreme Court decision that is frequently questioned legally in the country. .
