Investigators from the Capital Homicide Division (DHC) will perform fingerprint identification on the victim who died after being hit by a gas canister, thrown from a building in Copacabana, in the South Zone of Rio.
The procedure will have to be carried out since no family member has come to recognize the body, which remains in the Medical Legal Institute (IML), in downtown Rio. The delegate responsible for the investigation, Cassiano Conte, told the G1 that it is necessary that the victim have a document registered in the state system of RJ for the recognition technique to work.
“Since there was no relative, we will do the fingerprint identification. The procedure is done by digital printing. There is a specific sector to do this. We’re going to remove the fingerprint from the body, and if we accuse the system, we can identify it. The problem is if you don’t have any documents registered in the state of Rio de Janeiro, ”said delegate Cassiano Conte.
“It would be easier if a family member came to identify him. With a relative, we compare it with possible identification. In addition, we are still waiting for the IML report and the result of the technical expertise of the place of the day of the event ”, he added.
