With the most recent total restriction measures to reduce infections caused by Covid-19, a good part of the commerce and some services will not be able to operate from 0:01 am on Sunday (2/28), according to a decree. signed by Governor Ibaneis Rocha MDB) this Friday night (2/26).

According to the document, the text directly affects shopping centers, restaurants, bars and clothing stores, as well as shops in general. Due to the determination of the Buriti Palace, all these establishments, including gyms, theaters, cinemas, schools, colleges and universities, will not be able to function during the term of the decree.

According to the document, the following are suspended:

  • Events, of any nature, that require a government license;
  • Collective cinema and theater activities;
  • Educational activities in all schools, universities and colleges, from public and private educational networks;
  • Sports academies of all modalities;
  • Museums;
  • Zoological, ecological, recreational, urban, living and similar parks;
  • Discos and night clubs;
  • Customer service in shopping centers, popular fairs and recreational clubs;
  • Commercial establishments of any nature, including bars, restaurants and the like;
  • Beauty salons, hairdressers, nail polishes and beauty centers;
  • Kiosks, food trucks and trailers selling food;
  • Body and paint workshops;
  • Street commerce in general;
  • Civil construction.

The necessary adjustments to comply with the school calendar will be established by the Department of Education of the State of the Federal District, after the return of classes.

They remain open:
  • Supermarkets
  • Fruits and vegetables;
  • Mini-markets;
  • Grocery stores;
  • Service stations;
  • Trade in pharmaceutical products;
  • Hospitals, clinics and medical and dental offices, laboratories and pharmaceutical products;
  • Veterinary clinics;
  • Wholesale;
  • Warehouses for veterinary drugs or disinfectant products;
  • Funeral and related services;
  • Convenience stores and mini-markets at gas stations exclusively for the sale of products;
  • Power, water, sewerage, telephone and garbage collection services;
  • Warehouse of construction materials;
  • Cults, masses and rituals of any creed or religion.

The services considered essential and of extreme public utility were maintained: health, safety, health surveillance, communication, social assistance, consumer inspection bodies, in addition to the collection of the Urban Cleaning Service (SLU) and inspections by the Secretariat of the State of Protection of the Urban Development Order of the Federal District (DF Legal), and of the Federal District Prosecutor’s Office.

Before the publication of the decree, the forecast was that the measures would come into force on Monday (1/3), but they were brought forward at 0:01 on Sunday (2/28).
