With the help of partners, Atltico settles its debt for the purchase of Maicosuel

Atlético will not start the Brazilian Championship with a negative score. In the late afternoon on Monday, President Srgio Sette Cmara confirmed the payment of R $ 13,454,328.54 for the purchase of the Maicosuel sock, made in 2014. It was the last day of the term granted by FIFA for the club to pay the debt with Udinese from Italy.

In recent days, the president has expressed his concern over the payment of the debt. In an interview, Sette Cmara hinted that the club could not pay the debt to Udinese. However, MRV Engenharia and Banco BMG, partners in the construction of the MRV Arena and in the recruitment of players and coach Jorge Sampaoli, once again assisted Atltico.

Atltico bought Maicosuel for 3.3 million euros in 2014. In June 2015, a good part of the investment was recovered with the attacking midfielder’s loan to Al Sharjah. The UAE team disbursed € 2 million for the one-year loan. He returned to the rooster in 2016.

In June 2017, Paulo paid Atlântico some R $ 3.7 million to buy the sock.

Maicosuel played 87 games for Atlético, with nine goals scored. There were 50 wins, with 16 draws and 21 losses. He won the Recopa Sul-Americana and the Copa do Brasil in 2014, in addition to the mining titles of 2015 and 2017.

In addition to this debt, Galo has another debt to settle with the Italian club. Galo also did not pay Udinese the amount proposed to hire left-back Douglas Santos. The debt exceeds 2.5 million euros.
