Atlético faces Fluminense with the challenge of consolidating an evolution within the Brazilian Championship. After closing the shift in the vice-lantern, the Huracán has a G-6 campaign in the return and already dreams of a vacancy in the Libertadores in 2021. The game against Flu will be this Saturday, at 7:00 p.m., in Maracanã.
Hurricane beat Fortaleza (2 to 1), Goiás (1 to 0) and Santos (1 to 0) in the second round. They only lost to Palmeiras, 3-0, away from home. The team therefore won 75% of the points.
In the second round standings, Atlético is only behind Atlético-MG, São Paulo, Grêmio and Palmeiras. Thanks to that sprint, Hurricane jumped from the vice-lantern to current 12th place.
It should be remembered that, amid the victories of the round, Rubro-Negro continued to beat Atlético-MG, but in a postponed match of the first round.
Confident about the positive moment, Paulo Autuori said that Atlético’s goal is to return to Libertadores in 2021. On Tuesday, the team lost to River Plate and ended up eliminated in the round of 16 of the tournament.
– We have a group of players that gives us the guarantee of being competitive and fighting, within the Brazilian Championship, for a possible classification for a competition like the Libertadores. It is not an easy road. It is long, arduous and difficult, but what we have shown gives us peace of mind for the future – said the coach.

Despite the optimistic speech, Atlético is still closer to the relegation zone (four points) than the G-6 (nine points). Therefore, a victory over Fluminense is essential this Saturday.

To keep the momentum move away from the Z-4 and closer to the G-6, Athletico gains reinforcements. Eight players have recovered from Covid-19 and are related again, such as goalkeepers Santos and Jandrei, left-back Abner, and midfielders Fernando Canesin and Nikão.
Atlético must have Santos; Erick, Pedro Henrique, Thiago Heleno and Abner; Richard, Fernando Canesin and Léo Cittadini; Nikão, Carlos Eduardo (Renato Kayzer) and Walter.
Goalkeeper Léo Linck, right-back Khellven and defender Felipe Aguilar, on the other hand, are out. Because they tested positive for the coronavirus on the 26th, they should return only next week.
The Christian midfielder is also absent against the Flu. The number 88 is suspended for the third yellow card. The list of absences also has the injuries of Jonathan, Márcio Azevedo and Vitinho.
