With goals from Lewandowski, Bayern secure a place in the World Cup final

Bayern Munich is the second finalist in the Club World Cup. After the 2-0 victory with goals from Robert Lewandowski, the German club will face the Mexican Tigres in the decision of the competition.

The decision of the tournament will take place on Thursday the 11th at 3:00 p.m. (Brasilia time), at the Cidade da Educação Stadium, in Qatar. It is the first time that a Mexican team has reached the final of a Club World Cup. Bayern, on the other hand, will have a chance to win the second title, considering the title in 2013.

In the first stage, Bayern Munich was superior to its rivals. The Germans opened the scoring in the 16th minute with a goal from Robert Lewandowski. Later, the Bavarians presented a few more chances, however, Al-Ahly continued with an offensive stance and knowing how to deal with the pressure imposed by Hans Flick’s men.

In the last 45, Bayern had a more connected rival ahead. Trying to impose more intensity in search of the equalizer, the Egyptians appeared very often in the offensive sector, mainly in the counterattacks. However, the defensive quality of the European team made the chances were undermined. At 40 minutes, Lewan extended the score and closed the result.

Despite the defeat, Al-Ahly will return to the pitch on Thursday the 11th to face Palmeiras in the dispute for third and fourth places. The game will be at 12 pm (Brasilia time).
