In the last 24 hours, Brazil recorded an additional 830 deaths from covid-19. Since the start of the pandemic, 124,729 people have died from the new coronavirus in the country, according to today’s data from the media consortium, of which the Twitter It is part of.
Between yesterday and today, 44,728 new diagnoses of the disease were confirmed in the country. Now there are 4,046,150 positive tests.
The moving average of deaths, which calculates daily deaths based on the records made in the last seven days, points to 858 deaths per day, a result considered stable at 14 days (-13%).
According to the survey conducted by the consortium, 12 states and the Federal District experienced a slowdown in the moving average of deaths from the disease in the 14-day variation, while two showed an increase.
Among the regions, only the Northeast (-25%) showed a decrease in the 14-day variation due to the disease caused by the new coronavirus. With the exception of the North, the others remained with stable rates: Midwest (-10%) and Southeast (-14%) and South (-14%).
The North rose again (38%), driven by the figures from Amazonas, which registered 9 deaths compared to 1 registered 14 days ago. Of these, 6 occurred in the last 24 hours, according to the Fundación Vigilancia Sanitaria Amazonas, responsible for the balance in the state. The rest is due to deaths from previous months that were reclassified by the Manaus Municipal Health Department as deaths from covid-19.
A review of deaths was also made in Pernambuco, which registered negative figures (-37), since 65 cases of deaths of people who are not residents of the state and that had originally been registered by the Department of Health were eliminated.

Bolsonaro signed a law requiring vaccination
President Jair Bolsonaro (without a party) has spoken out against an eventual vaccine against covid-19, but a law promulgated in February provides for the mandatory immunization of the population.
Article 3 of Law No. 13,979 / 20 reads as follows: “To face the public health emergency of international importance referred to in this Law, the authorities may adopt, within the scope of their powers, among others, the following measures : I – isolation; II – quarantine; III – mandatory determination of: a) medical examinations; b) laboratory tests; c) taking clinical samples; d) vaccination and other prophylactic measures; or e) specific medical treatments “.
In addition to Jair Bolsonaro, the text was signed by Sérgio Moro, then Minister of Justice and Public Security, and Luiz Henrique Mandetta, at that time responsible for Health.
Vehicles gather to obtain information
In response to the decision of the government of Jair Bolsonaro to restrict access to data on the covid-19 pandemic, the media Twitter, El Estado de S. Paulo, Folha de S.Paulo, O Globo, G1 and Extra formed a consortium to work collaboratively to seek the necessary information directly from the state health departments of the 27 units of the Federation.
The federal government, through the Ministry of Health, should be the natural source of these figures, but recent attitudes from the authorities and the president himself question the availability of the data and its veracity.
