Four people were killed in a massacre on the outskirts of the Aripuanã prospect, 976 km from Cuiabá, on Saturday (21). The bodies were found on Monday (23) after people close to them approached the Civil Police to report the disappearance of one of the victims.
Local residents were the first to find the bodies and call the police.
According to the investigation, the five victims were descending from the mountain range at 9 am on Saturday (21) when they were approached by four armed men who blocked the road with a pickup truck.
Later, the victims were handcuffed, transferred to a road, towards the municipality of Juína, and later executed.

According to the police report, Jonas, his friend, was going to Juína, 737 km from Cuiabá, and hitchhiking with his family.
A fifth person who was with the group survived. According to police, the woman was not killed because she said she was pregnant.
After the crime, the suspects set fire to one of the vehicles and the fire reached one of the bodies; the rest were found with injuries.
Investigations are underway to identify the suspects and clarify the motivation for the crime. Police have yet to hear from the survivor.
The case is being investigated by the Civil Police. No suspect was arrested or identified.
