Due to the social isolation due to the new coronavirus, the demand for various applications related to video and audio calls has grown considerably. These applications are expanding the ability to better serve the consumer.

Widely used by companies, Zoom has invested in internal security enhancements. Previously paid Google Meet will be free, Skype now allows calls without the need for an account or software installation, and WhatsApp, which previously had four participants on the same call, has now doubled.

But how to make a video call with up to 8 participants in WhatsApp?

– You must have the latest version of the application. To update, just go to Google Play, if you are using an Android device, or Apple Store. Now if your device is an iPhone and it is available, just update the app. If this option does not appear, it is because your application is already updated.

With the updated application, you can access the three ways to promote a video call with up to 8 WhatsApp participants, see:

Group call

When you click on the call icon and choose whether the call will be video or voice, the call will automatically start with all participants.

From a contact

In this second case, the call will start from the contact list, respecting the limit of 8 participants imposed by the application.

To do this, click on the camera icon (for video calls) or on the phone (for audio calls). Then, simply click the icon to add contact to the call, in the upper right corner.

From the “Calls” section of WhatsApp

In this third method, simply click on the WhatsApp calls section, then touch the phone button inside a green circle at the bottom of the screen, and then on the “New group call” option.

Choose up to seven contacts who will make the call with you, and then simply dial the camera icon (for a video call) or the phone icon (for a voice call).
