4. Brazil bans flights from the UK after a new strain of coronavirus

The restrictions do not apply, among others, to Brazilians born or naturalized and immigrants with permanent residence in Brazilian territory, in addition to cargo transportation.
Also according to the text, the restrictions do not prevent foreigners from entering the country by air, as long as the immigration requirements appropriate to their condition are met.
5. Researchers identify a possible new strain of coronavirus in Rio
Researchers from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) and the National Laboratory for Scientific Computing of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovations (MCTI) identified a possible new lineage of the new coronavirus (Sars-CoV-2) circulating among the population of Rio de Janeiro. 
The details of the investigation, as well as its results, have not yet been disclosed in any scientific journal. According to the ministry, by analyzing samples of genetic material collected from patients residing in the state, the researchers identified five mutations of the virus that causes covid-19, which may characterize a new strain originating from the B.1.1.28 subspecies of the coronavirus. .
The new virus strain may have appeared in July this year, having been identified mainly in samples taken from residents of Cabo Frio, Niterói and Duque de Caxias, in Baixada Fluminense.
In a note, the MICTI reports that, according to the researchers, as of yet, there is no evidence that the new strain of the virus is more transmissible than those previously identified, nor that the mutation interferes with the effectiveness of the vaccines found in Test phase.
Even so, those responsible consider it important to continue with genomic surveillance studies in order to monitor the possible dispersal of the new strain, as well as the possible appearance of other Sars-CoV-2 variants.
