The former president of the House of Representatives Rodrigo Maia (DEM-RJ) expressed himself on Twitter on Thursday (4) about the statement of President Jair Bolsonaro on the Covid-19 pandemic. During an act in Goiás, the president lamented the deaths caused by Covid-19 and said: “Enough of freshness, of mimimi. How long are you going to be crying? We have to face the problems.”

Later, on the social network, Maia wrote: “We will smile again when you leave. Until then, patience and serenity.” Bolsonaro only leaves office at the end of his term on December 31, 2022, if he is not re-elected in the presidential race or due to impeachment.

During his tenure, Maia even received 53 indictment requests and, by constitutional provision, had the task of opening or archiving the process. Maia did not analyze any requests. In January, however, shortly before resigning as president, the congressman said a possible impeachment of Bolsonaro could be debated “inevitably” in the future.
