He defeated Suely Vilela (PSB) in the second round of the municipal elections. The candidate obtained 90,065 votes, which represents 36.84% of the total.

The second round in Ribeirão Preto had 35.61% of abstention, 3.85% of white votes and 10.21% of invalid votes.

“We are not going to raise taxes. We will ensure faster opening of jobs. In September, we had more than 1,500 jobs created. In October, more than 2 thousand. In the second semester there were 4, 7 thousand more jobs, positive than those we lost during the pandemic, “he said.

The re-elected mayor accompanied the final part of the vote in the campaign committee, on Avenida Independência, where he arrived around 6:30 pm and was taken by supporters.

He was wearing a mask, as were most of the followers. Other supporters did not wear the mandatory accessory during the Covid-19 pandemic. There was agglomeration and social distance was not respected.

Duarte Nogueira also spoke about actions to combat the Covid-19 pandemic aimed at the economy. Ribeirão Preto has 33,849 cases of Covid-19 and 894 deaths, according to data from the Municipal Health Department on Friday (27), the date of the last update.
