Vila Velha became the first city in Espírito Santo to exceed the milestone of a thousand confirmed cases of new coronaviruses, according to a balance published by the State Government, on Saturday night (9). The municipality of green cinnamon has 1,015 confirmed cases.
As of Friday, the city had 978 cases, registering 37 new cases in 24 hours. The neighborhood with the most records in the city is Praia da Costa, with 137 infected, just one less case than Jardim Camburi, in Vitoria, which has 138.
The second in the list of cities with the most confirmed cases of the disease is Serra, with 872. Vitória is in third place, with 835, and Cariacica has 595, according to the most updated figures from the Covid-19 Panel of Espírito Santo.
As for the number of deaths, Vila Velha reached 31 confirmed records, behind Serra, which has 54 deaths, and Vitória, with 32 confirmed deaths.
According to the data updated this Saturday by the State Government, Espírito Santo has 4,412 confirmed cases, with 172 deaths and 1,607 people cured. The death rate in the state is around 3.7%.
