According to information from sources close to the place where the incident occurred, the professional normally took the images of the match until the moment he received the news that a relative had died. The information deeply moved the cameraman, who cried a lot and, after that, had the discomfort that demanded medical attention.

The guard team at the stadium had the help of Náutico’s doctors, who made the first appointment and took him on a stretcher to the ambulance that was on the Aflitos lawn. From there, the professional was transferred to a hospital in Recife to continue care.

According to Nautico’s medical vice president, Múcio Vaz, when they took him out of Los Aflitos, Erick Caldas was already conscious and oriented. According to Vaz, he must have had a hypertensive crisis.
