A 44-year-old businesswoman was hit with slaps and punches by an officer of the Military Police (PM) of Mato Grosso do Sul, in Bonito. The case took place within the city’s battalion on September 24 and came to light this weekend after the video showing the circular attacks on social media. Everything happened in front of the three minors who accompanied the woman, including a three-year-old autistic boy.
The video shows a PM pushing the woman and then hitting and slapping her. Three other men, uniformed, passively watch the attacks, which stop only when a woman in a PM uniform pulls her colleague off the victim.
The PM of Mato Grosso do Sul reported that he identified those involved in the incident and opened an Investigation by the Military Police (IPM) to investigate the circumstances that led to the incident.
TO Twitter, the victim said that he lives in Corumbá (MS) and was in Bonito for a family outing with three of his four children to celebrate his 44th birthday. One is a three-year-old autistic girl. The confusion that led her to the Civil Police station began in the restaurant in front of the inn where she was staying.
When placing the order, according to the victim, the food would have been slow to be ready, causing discomfort in the autistic daughter.
“My baby had a lot of fun and got hungry because she loves to eat rice and beans. I went to the restaurant with her on my lap and asked her if she was ready. Her [funcionária do restaurante] I told you to sit down a bit. More than an hour and a half passed and my baby got scared, of course, because he was hungry. I went to question the reason for so long and if they could give something to give to the baby, who was crying, “reported the businesswoman, who preferred not to identify herself.
The victim adds that she was pushed by the restaurant employee with the three-year-old on her lap.
“She didn’t like it [da cobrança pela refeição]He pushed me and called my baby a ‘society worm’. I fell to the floor with the baby, put her on the floor and walked over to her. This is how it started. “
The two were reportedly separated by the victim’s eldest daughter, a 17-year-old teenager. Besides her, a six-year-old son was also walking.
The woman also says the family returned to the inn after the confusion. The Military Police reportedly knocked on the door of the room minutes later. She says that a second lieutenant of the PM took her out of the hair of the establishment and led her handcuffed in a vehicle under allegation of contempt after trying to explain what happened.
“I tried to explain what happened. This lieutenant forced me to leave the room, pulling me out of the hotel hair,” he adds.
The assaults occurred in front of the children.
The PMs took the businesswoman to the city’s battalion before being transferred to the Civil Police Station. At the scene, the officer who would have pulled her hair at the inn attacked her with punches and slaps, as shown by the images recorded by the security cameras.
The attacks were caused, according to the victim, after she became desperate when she learned that the Guardianship Council would take her children to a shelter.
“The lieutenant gave the order to leave me in jail because I had failed. There was no one in the battalion and the lieutenant was in charge. [A agressão] That’s when the board arrived and took my children. I despaired. They didn’t listen to me. They didn’t even let me call anyone. I felt powerless, ”he says.
The woman was detained for 48 hours for the alleged crime of contempt. During this period, the husband found out about the incident, as he is a corporal in the Mato Grosso do Sul Military Police. He went to Bonito, rescued the children from the shelter and assisted the woman.
According to the victim, it was not possible to register a report or be heard by the delegate. She also alleges that she did not carry out a body examination for the attacks suffered, as the service was not available at that time, forcing her not to report the case to the Prime Minister’s internal affairs. Now, with the images in hand, the intention is to proceed with the registration.
“I did not make the complaint at that time because I had no evidence. I asked for images and the police told me that the cameras did not work. Today, when I found out about the repercussions, I thanked God, because this impunity will not remain only with me. mind, “he says.
PM investigates facts; OAB repudiates
The prime minister of Mato Grosso do Sul says the businesswoman was detained for “contempt, damage to property, threat, resistance to arrest and drunkenness.”
The act, says the PM, would have originated “after a team of the Military Police was summoned to immobilize him, in a restaurant in that municipality, after he allegedly threatened to set the place on fire, threatened the owners with death, and broke bottles “. within the commercial establishment “.
It happens that during the police report, the detainee was exalted against the PM who attended the incident, demanding the use of handcuffs and keeping them inside the compartment to drive the detainees, considering the advanced state of intoxication of the detainee. the same “, adds the note.
The victim denies the prime minister’s allegations. “They don’t know what to say. They know they were wrong. I just wanted a plate of food, which, by the way, I had already paid to give to my daughter,” she says. The prime minister promised to investigate the case.
The Brazilian State Bar Association (OAB) stated in a note that it repudiates “the act perpetrated by the public agent, who would have the duty to ensure the safety of persons, including detainees,” and not “commit violent attacks, under any pretext that can be claimed. “
“The images are terrifying, forceful and unfortunately only corroborate that the violence that comes from exactly where protection is expected, translates into trivialization and the lack of preparation of the agent to exercise one of the most relevant functions of the State, which is to guarantee protection and security of people, to strengthen oneself, including detainees, always with respect for the dignity of the human person, which does not correspond to what is expected of a Military Police ”, says the entity.
