Six people were rescued alive, two drowned and one remains missing

A video published on social networks shows the head of water that killed two people and left another missing in Capitólio, south of Minas, this Saturday (2). In the images you can see the force of the waters and some people stranded.

The current dragged nine people, leaving two dead and one missing on Saturday (2). According to the Fire Department, six people were rescued alive, two drowned and one remains missing.

Also according to firefighters, the accident occurred in a region known as Cascatinha, in a waterfall of the Ecoparque Capitólio. The head of water, that is, the sudden increase in the volume of water caused by the rain, surprised the bathers in the waterfall.

In another video, local journalist Helder Almeida shows the situation after the accident:

Three victims were stranded on the edge of the waterfall, near the waterfall, but safe. Three other victims were stranded on a rock in the watercourse, one of them had an open fracture: all were rescued.

Three other victims were swept away and fell into Lake Furnas, two people drowned and one is still missing.

According to the Civil Defense of Minas Gerais, the headwaters were caused by heavy rains that hit the headwaters of the Capivari river. The accident is still clarified, but it is possible that the two people who died are added to the list of deaths due to rain in Minas Gerais.

Firefighters from Piumhi and Passos, both in southern Minas, are on the scene. The military personnel of the Battalion of Response to Disasters and Environmental Emergencies (Bemad) in Belo Horizonte also supports the relief of the victims. The town of Capitólio is a destination for many miners this holiday season.
