Externally, the Guild is cautious and denies it has made a move to hire the forward Edinson cavani, ex-PSG. Behind the scenes, however, the leadership moved and presented a millionaire proposal to the Uruguayan workforce: 12 million euros (more than R $ 76 million) for three years of contract.
As determined by the give, the amount would be paid with the help of four Grêmio partners, with no obligation to repay the investors. A Chinese multinational company, which once sponsored the club, would be responsible for the commercial exploitation of Cavani in Grêmio.
Despite the efforts, Grêmio is pessimistic about the chances of closing the contract. Internal sources assure that he would already be settled with a European club. According to the Spanish newspaper Marca, the forward was offered to Real Madrid.

Without a contract since leaving PSG at the end of June, Cavani has until October 5 to define his future. This is when the registration period for European competitions ends. If he is not satisfied with any European club by then, Grêmio can resume negotiations.
The attacker’s priority is to continue in European football, but a return to South America is not ruled out. People close to the player say they appreciate the possibility of playing in Brazil and cite Flamengo and Palmeiras as other interested clubs.
The forward has already ruled out playing in less competitive leagues, such as Argentina, the United States and China. At 33, he wants to be competitive, with the aim of reaching a high level in the 2022 World Cup.
In a recent interview with a Grêmio fan show, President Romildo Bolzan claimed that Cavani was “shocked” by the repercussions of a possible deal with Tricolor. But he reiterated that his only chance to play for the club would be for a personal return project, to be closer to his home in Uruguay.
