On December 1, the Ministry of Health released the first points of the “preliminary” strategy to vaccinate the population against Covid-19. According to the folder, the plan will be divided into four stages of vaccination:

• First phase: health workers, the elderly population from 75 years of age, people aged 60 and over living in long-term institutions (such as nursing homes and psychiatric institutions) and indigenous population.
• Second stage: 60 to 74 years.
• Third phase: people with comorbidities who are more likely to worsen Covid-19 (such as patients with chronic kidney and cardiovascular disease).
• Fourth phase: teachers, security and rescue forces, prison staff and prisoners.

The government does not expect to vaccinate the entire population of the country next year. In a note, the Health Ministry said the expectation is to immunize 109.5 million people in 2021.

The country is expected to prepare the vaccination of 450,000 Berliners in mid-December, according to an announcement made late last month. Vaccination centers are being created in different regions of Germany, and the goal is to make 20,000 applications a day, but only in the elderly and people belonging to risk groups, such as diabetics, obese and hypertensive.

Vaccination centers must be open seven days a week, from 9 am to 7 pm. The government plans to call in retired nurses, medical students, receptionists and security officers to assist in the campaign, according to broadcaster “RFI.”

It is not known exactly how many or which people have received or will receive a vaccine against Covid-19 in China, which develops various immunizers.

According to the British network BBC, the vaccines of the state Sinopharm and Sinovac, both still in the last phase of testing, have been applied in health professionals, members of the pandemic control teams, officials working on the country’s borders, employees of state-owned companies and other people.

Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said he expected the vaccines to be available by February next year. The country’s vaccination strategy should be ready by the end of this week.

On December 2, British Health Secretary Matt Hancock said that the elderly and people in nursing homes, including staff, would be first in line for immunization. Professionals from the NHS, the UK’s public health service, also top the list, according to Hancock.
