The man who was arrested yesterday as the main suspect in opening fire at an Illinois bowling alley last Saturday (26), which left three dead and three wounded, is a US Army intelligence sergeant.
Duke Webb, 37, will be charged with murder and attempted murder in the first degree. He was taken into custody. The information is from People.
According to a report released by the station WIFR-TV, Webb was a 12-year veteran of the U.S. Army, most recently serving as a special forces operations assistant and intelligence sergeant.
He is assigned to the 3rd battalion of the air base. To camp Bull Simons Eglin, in Florida.
Three men, ages 73, 69 and 65, were killed in the shooting. Three other victims were taken to hospital with injuries, Rockford Police Chief Dan O’Shea told reporters at a news conference.
The suspect has no known ties to the victims, O’Shea said.
“We believe this was a completely random act and there is no prior meeting or relationship of any kind between the suspect and any of the victims in this case,” the police chief told reporters, according to the Associated Press.
Bail has yet to be set. Webb also did not file the challenge, and court records do not reflect an attorney authorized to speak on his behalf.
