Before, landing was restricted to 15 airports, with larger medical centers and more stringent procedures.
In addition to Brazil, the relaxation will apply to aircraft departing from China (except for Macao and Hong Kong), Iran, the United Kingdom, Ireland, in addition to the 26 states that make up the Schengen Zone of the European Union.
Relaxation, however, is not valid for tourists. If the passenger leaves Brazil, China or countries with restrictions and does not have a resident or work visa, green card or is not a US citizen, the entry restrictions continue.
The United States government reinforces that passengers will no longer be subjected to a strict health inspection, since educational campaigns and data collection for follow-up are prioritized.
In general, the first flexibility step occurs only in clearance to land at all US international airports and in healthcare: but it already represents an advance in the connection between countries.
US officials also hope that allowing tourists to enter the country is the next step in the Covid-19 control plan.
Not surprisingly, airlines are more optimistic and preparing to resume. The expectation is that the volume of tranches between Brazil and the United States will return to the pre-pandemic level in December of this year.
