The Secretary of Government, Antonio Daas Abboud, confirmed, on the afternoon of Thursday (11), that Ribeirão Preto will comply with the rules of the emergency phase of containment of the pandemic and will institute, starting next week, a touch of stays on Sundays.
The unprecedented measure in the city, which will be applied between 8:00 p.m. on Saturdays, March 20 and 27 – including Sundays, March 21 and 28 – until 5 a.m. on Monday, March 22 and 29, aims to reduce the circulation of people on weekends and fight against the spread of the new coronavirus. For this, specific schedules have been announced.
According to him, the movement of people will be allowed until 8 p.m. on Saturday and can only resume at 5 a.m. on Monday. Therefore, Sundays should only be used for emergency activities.
This category includes only three services. They are: hospitals, pharmacies and gas stations. The rest, even those considered “essential” in the municipal decree, must keep the doors closed. This applies to supermarkets, bakeries, etc.
Also according to Daas Abboud, all the specifications of the new phase will be published by the Ribeirão Preto City Council as soon as the Official State Gazette announces the measures already proposed by Governor João Doria (PSDB).
