The members of the Federal Government admit that there is the possibility of not approving the Citizen income, a new social program that is being studied to replace Bolsa Família.
For now, the government hopes to formalize the request after the elections in December, with Senator Márcio Bittar (MDB-AC) responsible for the referral. Bittar is the rapporteur for the Budget and the PEC (Proposed Amendment to the Constitution), which devises ways to better use public money.
Initially, the senator intended to present the report this week. However, the announcement ended up being postponed until next week. According to government officials, the proposal should be delayed even longer, because the president Jair bolsonaro he was dissatisfied with the way the program was running.
Even with the appearance of advantages, at first, the new Bolsa Família will have to adjust some existing benefits to pay what it promises, which can generate a negative agenda for the government.

The Citizen Income can cover 27 social programs
Finally, the Minister of Economy said that there is a study to analyze the possibility that the Citizen Income program covers 27 social programs. In this way, there would be a more robust benefit that would allow a “soft landing, landing for emergency assistance ”.
“This action is temporary and we need to bring this aid to a solid, consistent and well-financed social program. Being a permanent expense, it must be financed with permanent income. It cannot be financed with a push, with an adjustment. This is not the way to finance Renda Brasil. It is with permanent recipes. We are not deviating from our programs, ”said the minister.
