UOL sold its data center division, UD Tecnologia, to a US fund named eloquently: Digital Colony. The platform was equivalent to 30% of the income of UOL Diveo, the Group’s technology arm, chaired by Gil Torquato.

247 – UOL ditched its data center division, UD Tecnologia, and sold it to the US fund Digital Colony. The deal is part of the company’s new strategy.
The report in the Folha de S. Paulo newspaper highlights that “according to the president of UD Tecnologia y Compasso – companies that formed the former UOL Diveo – Gil Torquato, the sale decision follows a movement of liquidity and a good business opportunity for the company.”
The article also reports that “last year, UOL Diveo divided its operations into two different companies: Compasso, focused on software development and digital transformation, and UD Tecnologia, which would be the structure of the company’s data center. Together, the companies have 2,200 clients and around 1,700 employees, 1,650 of whom are from Compasso and another 60 employees from UD Tecnologia. ”
