US Elections: This Wednesday’s Summary (4)
See which states are still in play; Trump must win EVERYONE to be re-elected
- Pennsylvania – 20 delegates – Trump led by 3 percentage points with 90% of the votes counted. However, floods of mailed votes in big cities that have yet to be counted could turn the tide in Biden’s favor.
- Georgia – 16 delegates – The race was tight with the vote count by correspondence. With 98% of polls counted, Trump has a lead of just 0.67 percentage points. The expectation is on ballots mailed in the Atlanta area.
- North Carolina – 15 delegates – The Republican had a 1.4 percentage point advantage over the Democrat with 94% of the votes counted. The margin can be reduced, but it is more difficult for Biden.
- Nevada – 6 delegates – Biden is ahead of Trump with only 0.64 percentage points with 75% of the votes counted. A Republican turn is still possible, but votes in the Las Vegas and Reno regions should maintain the Democratic lead.
If this happens, Trump will be reelected with 274 votes in the Electoral College, compared to 264 for Biden – the closest electoral race in 20 years.

To Associated Press ea Fox News screened Joe Biden’s win in Arizona, but other vehicles like the newspaper “The New York Times” still give chance of Donald Trump winning in state and reverse the Democratic trend that began with Barack Obama.
Oh arizona valley 11 votes in the Electoral College, and Biden still has a margin of just over 2 percentage points with 86% of the votes counted. Mail-in votes still need to be counted, but unlike Pennsylvania or Georgia, the trend is for these lost voters to diminish the Democrat’s lead.
In case of a surprising change, Trump will momentarily go to 225 votes in the Electoral College against Biden’s 253. Considering the probable victory in Alaska (3 votes), the current president can be re-elected in this scenario if:
- Winning in Pennsylvania and other states is still open: Electoral College: Trump, 285 x Biden, 253.
- Win in Pennsylvania, Georgia, and North Carolina: Electoral College: Trump, 279 x Biden, 259
- Win in Pennsylvania, Georgia and Nevada: Electoral College: Trump, 270 x Biden, 258
Also, in a Republican victory scenario in Arizona, the race would end in tie for Electoral College (269 x 269) if Trump wins in Pennsylvania, North Carolina and Nevada and loses in Georgia. If this happens, it will be the state representation in the House of Representatives that elects the next president.
When does the count end?
See below when the vote count should end, according to the FiveThirtyEight website:

- Georgia (16 delegates): It should go out today or tomorrow.
- North Carolina (15 delegates): the state will accept votes that arrive in the mail before the 12th (Thursday of next week).
- Nevada (6 votes): the state will accept votes that arrive in the mail before the 10th (Tuesday of next week).
