The president of the United States, Donald Trump, said on Saturday (19) that he would approve the negotiation of Oracle and Walmart with the Chinese application TikTok, after threatening to ban the social network in the United States.

Trump told reporters at the White House that he would give his “blessing” to the company, which would address its national security concerns.
“Security will be 100%. Conceptually, it’s good business for the United States,” Trump said. “I gave my blessing to the agreement.”
The new company would be called TikTok Global and would be based in the United States, in the state of Texas. In addition to directing the social media operation in the country, the company must have the majority of US executives, including the CEO, as well as a director specialized in security.
Oracle would be responsible for the company’s data management and would have access to the codes of ByteDance, the company that owns the application. TikTok has more than 100 million users in the country, and US officials had raised concerns about the capture and use of data by China, the birthplace of the
Oracle and Walmart are expected to acquire sizable portions of TikTok Global. According to Trump, the new company would be fully controlled by them and would generate up to 25,000 jobs in the country. Walmart, in fact, should put its CEO, Doug McMillon, on the board of TikTok Global.
