Game DLCs will also get a 75% discount during the free period

Total War: Shoung 2 can be downloaded for free starting Monday (27), players who download the game can keep it forever. The download will be available until May 1, so keep an eye out. The game is available for free as a way to support quarantines and social isolation, as announced by the game’s publisher:

The past few weeks have presented unimaginable challenges for many of us, but the remarkable collective effort that the global community is making to overcome this time of adversity is truly inspiring. With that in mind, we want to continue to encourage everyone to stay home and save lives by offering everyone a gift to help make this difficult situation a little easier.

The game features battles from Japan’s Feudal period, you can recreate iconic confrontations of traditional samurai culture, build vast empires from Fukushima to Hitachi, or promote strategy schemes through networks of spies and assassins. Total War: Shogun II promises hundreds of hours of campaign and battle to play. “We hope it will help make the days a little bit brighter,” the press release says.

It’s worth mentioning that other companies are also announcing free games, Ubisoft gave it Assassin’s Creed II a while back and Epic Games brings a new game every week. Epic’s free game today is For The King, a turn-based RPG and strategy game with a style reminiscent of the tabletop RPG.
