The presidency of the TJ-GO (Goiás Court of Justice) ordered the opening of an investigation to investigate an alleged payment of bribes to judicial judges in the context of the case of Father Robson de Oliveira.

In an order issued today by Judge Carlos Alberto França, president of the TJ, a procedure for collecting evidence was established to learn about the events reported last Sunday on Rede Globo’s Fantástico program.

The report revealed audios in which the priest, in conversation with two lawyers, talks about an alleged bribery payment of R $ 1.5 million to the magistrates.

According to an investigation by the MP-GO (Goiás Public Ministry), the purpose of the bribery was to ensure victory in an appeal on a lawsuit involving a farm valued at R $ 15 million.

“It is also in the interest of this Court of Justice to verify the facts, so that there are no doubts about the fairness of the conduct of the magistrates mentioned in the case and the judgment of the appeal of this Court,” França wrote in the order.

He asked the parties involved in the case of the alleged purchase of judgment, including Father Robson and the lawyer Cláudio Pinho, who appears in the audio, to comment on the matter within 10 days.

The order of the president of the court meets the request of the magistrates Amélia Martins de Araújo and Roberto Horácio de Rezende. The investigation will be conducted confidentially.
