Atlético’s football director Alexandre Mattos gave an exclusive interview to Rádio Esportes, from Itatiaia, to talk about the controversial negotiation with Thiago Neves, ex-Cruzeiro, which angered the athletic fans on Monday night (14). The deal was close to being completed, it was drafted verbally, but the Rooster backed off from the backlash from the crowd.

Mattos denies that a contract was signed and says he withdrew after the negative repercussion. “Through our day-to-day life, our football with all its repercussions and thinking about everyone’s safety, we took a step back and also appreciated Thiago’s interest in relation to Atlético.
