The government has defined that it will make the payment of four more rounds of emergency aid for Brazilians in 2021. All because of the pandemic caused by the new coronavirus.

The new Emergency Aid will be paid to 45.6 million Brazilians in 2021. If we take into account the number of beneficiaries, it is concluded that the number of people excluded from the benefit in 2021 reaches almost 20 million.

To be eligible for a family, you must have a total monthly income of up to 3 minimum wages (R $ 3,300), as well as one that has a monthly per capita income of up to half the minimum wage (R $ 550).

In addition, the benefit will only cover citizens who were enrolled in the 2020 benefit. Therefore, the inclusion of new records is not allowed.

How the emergency aid payment will work

There will be 4 installments ranging from R $ 150 to R $ 375, depending on the beneficiary’s family background:

  • People who live alone will receive assistance of R $ 150;
  • Families with more than one person who are not headed by women will receive R $ 250
  • Families headed by women will receive the help of R $ 375.

Who will receive it?

Under the new regulations, the aid will only be paid to families with a total income of up to three minimum monthly wages, provided that the income per person is less than half the minimum wage. The government reported that the benefit must be paid to 45.6 million families.

Those who are beneficiaries of Bolsa Família continue with the most advantageous value rule. The person will receive the benefit with the higher value, either the portion paid under the program or the amount of Emergency Assistance.

Who will not receive?

  1. under 18 years of age, except teenage mothers;
  2. people who have a formal job or who receive some benefit from the government (except Bolsa Família and salary subsidy);

  8. people who, as of December 31, 2019, possessed assets and rights for a total value greater than R $ 300 thousand.

In 2020, there were approximately 5.2 million MEI that received the quotas of the first phase of this aid, this represents 50% of the entrepreneurs registered in the country.

With the new wave of the pandemic, a survey carried out by Sebrae among small entrepreneurs indicated that the extension of emergency aid was the second most requested public policy. Being cited by 26% of those surveyed, only behind the expansion of credit lines (remembered by 45% of entrepreneurs)

Among individual microentrepreneurs (MEI), the extension of Assistance had greater adherence, being cited by 36% of this public. Microentrepreneurs will be in the new round of aid payments.

What is the value of the new fees?

The amount paid will be R $ 250 and will vary from R $ 150 to 375.00 depending on the profile of the beneficiary. Up to four monthly installments will be paid, with the possibility of extension through a new standard.

Will they get all the MEIs?

The new measure does not foresee the reopening of registrations to the program. Therefore, those who were already registered and received emergency assistance in the first phase should receive the parcels.

In addition, this list will make a list of those registered in the database of the Ministry of Citizenship, taking into account income and financial insufficiency criteria. The information contained in the database will be considered at the time of processing.
