Almost 24 hours after the start of the search, the 8-year-old boy disappeared in the waters of the Anhanduí River, in Campo Grande, has not yet been located. He was at the scene with the two brothers when he was captured by a “head of water”, a phenomenon characterized by the sudden rise in the level of a river, due to the rains at the headwaters of the watercourse.

On Saturday afternoon (5), the mother of the 38-year-old boy told the story that she did not know that her son was in the river with his brothers. “My son said ‘the water took my brother, Mom’. Then I found out that he was in the river. For me, he was in the room. I would not leave him on the bank of a stream. He is 8 years old, but small” , said.

The housewife spent the night at her brother’s house, near the river, waiting for news of her son. Today, she and other family members also followed the work of the Fire Department.

“I still hope that my son is alive. Sometimes he is in a hospital, unconscious and cannot tell who the father and mother are. Someone may have found him,” the mother said.

During the morning, two soldiers from the Fire Department made a “sweep” in the area, covering 11 kilometers of the river, but the boy was not located and the same path was redone.

Or case – The boy, accompanied by his brothers, aged 13 and 15, as well as another boy of 12, was in a concrete structure in the middle of the river, when the water level suddenly rose.

The children’s uncle, 36, managed to lift the 13-year-old boy out of the water with a rope. The 12-year-old boy went out alone.

The boy and older brother went with the flow, but the teenager managed to save himself.
