Sputnik – Pro-Bolsonaro protesters who went to Avenida Paulista to protest against Governor João Doria displayed banners against the mandatory COVID-19 vaccine in São Paulo.
A group estimated at 300 supporters of President Jair Bolsonaro promoted a protest on Avenida Paulista on Sunday (1). They opposed the support of the state governor, João Doria, for mandatory immunization in São Paulo and the use of the vaccine developed by the Chinese company Sinovac in association with the Butantan institute.
According to a publication of the G1 portal, the demonstration began around 2 pm in front of the Masp. The event was called by the state representative Douglas García.

Doria had already spoken out in favor of making vaccines mandatory when they are available, generating a dispute with President Jair Bolsonaro, who promises that it will be a voluntary process.
The president of the Federal Supreme Court said that, ultimately, the collegiate decides the issue.
The Health Ministry announced last month that it would purchase 46 million doses of the vaccine, pending regulatory approval from Anvisa. However, a day later, Bolsonaro said that Brazil would not buy the vaccine.
