In 2021 the 13th Christmas salary bonus will be brought forward, according to the National Institute of Social Security (INSS). The measure was regulated through the Decree No. 10,410, published in the Official Gazette (DOU) of 2020.

Now, starting in 2021 and in the coming years, the payment of the 1st installment of the 13th INSS salary will occur only in August, corresponding to 50% of the benefit. The 2nd installment of the benefit will be paid in November with the remaining balance.
The receipt of the 13th salary will occur together with the payment of the corresponding month’s benefit. Advance payments will be made to beneficiaries who are entitled to:
- Retirement
- Sickness benefit
- Assistance in accidents
- Maternity pay
- Pension for death
- Assistance in prison.
New changes
Decree 10.410, which established the anticipation of the thirteenth salary, has other changes. The regulation adds policyholders to the individual taxpayer category, now it is included for:
- Application controllers
- Craftsmen
- Representatives
- Employees with an intermittent employment contract.
Furthermore, another change refers to the extension of social security rights to domestic workers who may receive accident benefits. The last change refers to the family allowance, in which the instituted amount will be unified, with the contingent at R $ 48.62.
