After appearing and disappearing in Utah and Romania, another monolith was discovered reminiscent of scenes from “2001: A Space Odyssey.” Now, an object similar to the first two has been discovered in California.
The structure was seen yesterday in the small town of Atascadero, in central California. According to the local newspaper Atascadero News, the object is at the top of Pine Moutain and has already attracted the attention of dozens of onlookers, who climbed the hill to record the mysterious attraction in photos and videos.
The monolith is also about 10 feet tall and silver, but this time it is not attached to the ground, making it more likely to be knocked over, according to Atascadero News. It is estimated to weigh about 90 kg.
The material is similar to what you see, for example, in silver cookware, causing it to emit a strong glow when the sun shines on it.
Despite the similarity, it is not yet known whether the object in California is exactly the same as in Utah, the first to appear and disappear, or the one in Romania, which has also been removed.
According to testimony from Ray Johnson, who makes trails at the site, the object was not there Tuesday. The local city said it has no information on how the monolith got to the site, or what will be ugly with it.
It was the disappearance of the Utah monolith that caused the most repercussions. A photographer captured four men removing the object from the site, and an American said he took it.
