The special conditions of the economy, created by the end of the year decree, will last until next January 10. The decision was confirmed by the Governor Camilo Santana in a post on social media.

Due to the persistence of the delicate scenario of the pandemic, the Committee that deliberates on the state decrees related to Covid defined that the specific decree at the end of the year, which prohibits parties, concerts, social and corporate events, changes the hours of commerce and restaurants . , among other measures, and which would expire next Monday (4), will also extend until next Sunday (10), together with the other decree in force, until we analyze the indicators throughout the week in search of new definitions ” Camilo said.

Previously, the end of the year decree, established to regulate the economy during the period of high tourist demand for sectors such as commerce, hotels, bars and restaurants, would be in effect until January 4, 2021.

The measures dealt with the extension of the opening hours for some sectors, such as commerce, and greater operating and capacity restrictions for others, such as shopping centers, which limited the maximum capacity of customers.

1. Restaurants, beach huts and hotels

  • Closing hours reduced to 10pm;
  • Prohibition of parties, of any kind, in restaurants, beach huts, hotels and other closed and open establishments;
  • Limitation of six people per table in restaurants and similar, with a limit of 50% of the maximum capacity;
  • Limitation for the hotel and inn sector, of the use of apartments and rooms to a maximum of three adults or two adults with three children;

2. Shopping centers and street commerce

  • Authorization for shopping centers to be able, if they so decide, to extend their opening hours from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m., maintaining the closing time of the food court and restaurants at 10 p.m. and the occupancy limit of 50%;
  • Authorization for street commerce to, if they so decide, also extend the opening hours from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m., subject to the occupancy limit within the establishments;
  • Limit the occupancy of parking lots in shopping centers to 50%, and spaces that cannot be used must be marked and inspected;
  • Carry out electronic control at the main entrances to the shopping centers, informing, through panels, the maximum number of people allowed and the number of people at that time in the place;
  • Inclusion of the number of clients, employees and other employees present simultaneously at the maximum capacity of each establishment, in a shopping center or main street;

3. Events and areas of common use

  • Suspension from 12/15/2020 to 01/04/2021 of any social and corporate event, private or public, in open or closed environments in the State;
  • Prohibition of parties in common areas of any condominium, residential, recreational and mixed;
  • Limitation of the maximum capacity of the residential parties, in each unit, to 15 (fifteen) people, including residents and collaborators, and, in the case of condominiums, the maximum capacity of the respective units must be expressed in a place where it can be easily see tenants;
  • Prohibition of the celebration by public entities of New Year’s Eve parties (December 31), except in an exclusively virtual medium.
