Among the people who died from COVID-19 in Belo Horizonte, 838 are men and 656 are women. Most of the deaths, 82.6% (1,233), corresponded to the elderly. Another 15.1% (226) were people between 40 and 59 years old; and 2.3% (34) between 20 and 39 years old. There is also the death of a patient between 10 and 14 years old.

Regarding race / color, 50.6% of the people diagnosed with severe cases were brown, 28.2% white, 9.5% black and 0.8% yellow. According to PBH, 10.8% do not yet have a specific breed / color.

In addition, 97.5% of deaths are of people with a risk factor, according to the city council. Only 38 deaths without comorbidities: 31 men and seven women.

Age, heart disease, diabetes, lung disease, obesity, nephropathy, and neurological diseases are the most common comorbidities.

Beds

Other fundamental indicators for decision-making by the city council are the occupancy rates of ICU and nursing beds for COVID-19.

The intensive care index is 30.4% occupancy, while the nursing index is 27.4%. As a result, the two indicators remain in the controlled phase, below 50%.

There was a drop in both parameters, since the occupancy statistics reported in the previous bulletin were 28.7% in the ICUs and 27.7% in the wards.
