This Tuesday (20), Samsung made the robust Galaxy Xcover Pro smartphone official in the Brazilian market. The model had already been launched in the United States in January of this year and stands out for its durability and a communication resource as if it were a radio, ideal for work and sports environments.
Resistant intermediate
The Galaxy XCover Pro does not bring many news regarding technical specifications: the screen is IPS LCD with Full HD resolution and has a size of 6.3 inches. Designed for work, the smartphone can also be used with gloves.
As the objective of the smartphone is to resist the passage, the Galaxy XCover is certified IP68 for protection against water and dust, in addition to the military certification MLT-STD-810, also used in the latest LG models. In practice, this means that the Samsung phone has undergone endurance tests, such as drops and extreme temperatures, and it promises to withstand harsher situations compared to other phones.
Inside, the Galaxy XCover Pro is equipped with the Exynos 9611 chipset, the same as the Galaxy A51, and runs on “just” 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The smartphone leaves the factory with the Android 10 system under the One UI 2.0 interface and is compatible with NFC and Bluetooth 5.0.
At the rear there are two cameras, the main 25 MP and the other ultra wide angle 8 MP. On the front, there is a notch in the screen to house a 13 MP front camera and slightly more present edges, a feature that gives a feeling of robustness.
The Galaxy XCover Pro’s battery is removable, something we don’t see very often today, and it has a capacity of 4,050 mAh.
Walkie-talkie function
In partnership with Microsoft, Samsung implemented the walkie-talkie feature of Teams, the Redmond giant’s messaging service focused on the corporate market. The function can be accessed through a button on the left side of the device connected to the Teams account and creates a functionality close to that of a communication radio.
In addition to the walkie-talkie button, there are two additional buttons that can be programmed however the user wants, such as turning on the flashlight. Samsung also guarantees that the device is manufactured with security in mind, with data encryption and information isolation.
Pricing and availability
Between October 27 and November 30, the Galaxy XCover Pro will cost R $ 2,799. After the promotional period, the cell phone will be sold for R $ 3,199, only in black.
