The Climate Emergency Management Center (CGE) put all regions of the city of São Paulo in a state of attention due to floods at 11:28 am on Sunday (25), due to the rain that hit the city. Hail in the West Zone and in the Center of São Paulo (see photos below).

According to the CGE, around 11:30 am, the areas of instability that formed over the South Zone were moving towards the North Zone, reaching the rest of the capital’s regions.

  • Dr Penaforte Mendes Street, in Bela vista;
  • R. Pres. Batista Pereira, both directions;
  • Radial Leste, near the Guadalajara Viaduct;
  • Av. Vinte e Três de Maio, in the Paraíso region;
  • General Euclides de Figueiredo Viaduct, in Vila Mariana;
  • Plaza de las Banderas, next to the Anhangabaú Tunnel.

During the afternoon, the weather should remain unstable and there is the possibility of more rain in Greater São Paulo.

  • Avoid driving on flooded streets;
  • If the rain has caused flooding, do not go into the stream;
  • Stay in a safe place. If you need it, ask for help;
  • Stay away from the power grid and don’t stop under trees;
  • Shelter in houses and buildings;
  • Plan your trips so that there is less chance of dealing with traffic jams caused by blocked streets.
