The vice president of the government, Hamilton Mourão, spoke again about a possible expansion of the emergency help.
During an event, the vice president said that the amount of the benefit should have been less. If the amount is less than R $ 300, the emergency aid could be extended for a longer time, according to Mourão.
“Initially, the government’s proposal was for R $ 200, it went to R $ 300, it reached R $ 500 and ended at R $ 600. My very clear opinion is that we could have paid less for longer, it would be more efficient and effective ”Said the vice president.
“But this is what was decided together with Parliament and, well, this whole class survived. But the problem is there, it is on the horizon and we have to find a solution for that, ”added Mourão.
Bolsonaro says it is not possible to perpetuate emergency aid
President Jair Bolsonaro said that it will not be possible to perpetuate the benefits granted to the population due to the coronavirus pandemic.
“We have our problems internally. We help the people of Brazil with some projects during the pandemic. Some want to perpetuate those benefits. Nobody lives like this, ”said the president during a speech during his visit to the works of the Brazil-Paraguay Integration Bridge, in Foz do Iguaçu.
“We have to have the courage to make decisions. Worse than even a bad decision is indecision. We have to decide. We have to operate for our people, for our country, ”he added.
During a conversation with supporters at the Palácio da Alvorada last week, Bolsonaro did not rule out a new extension of emergency aid.
Aid extended until December
President Jair Bolsonaro announced the extension of emergency assistance for four months worth R $ 300. The extension of the aid was made official through a provisional measure and must be approved by deputies and senators in the National Congress.
“It is not enough for all needs, but basically it does. The amount just defined is a little more than 50% of the value of Bolsa Família. So, we decided here, even taking into account the economy on fiscal responsibility, to set it at R $ 300, “said Bolsonaro.
This year, the Executive deposited five installments of R $ 600 for beneficiaries of the aid, with the aim of helping Brazilians with low income, informal, MEI, self-employed and unemployed.
Number of installments receivable
The total amount of the fees to which the citizen will be entitled will depend on when she began to receive the aid. The maximum is nine installments, the first five of R $ 600 and the last four of R $ 300.
- Who received the first delivery in April: 9 pitches

- Who received the first delivery in June: 7 installments
- Who received the first delivery in July: 6 installments
- Who received the last installment of R $ 600 in August: you will receive 4 installments of R $ 300 in September, October, November and December;
- Who received the last installment of R $ 600 in September: you will receive 3 installments of R $ 300 in October, November and December;
- Who received the last installment of R $ 600 in October: you will receive 2 installments of R $ 300 in the months of November and December;
- Who received the last installment of R $ 600 in November: you will receive only 1 payment of R $ 300, in December.
According to the Government, those who oppose via the digital platform between July 20 and August 25, and are considered eligible, will receive a total of 4 installments of R $ 600, starting from Cycle 3.
Thus, these people will not be entitled to any part of the so-called residual emergency aid, of R $ 300.
Women heads of households are entitled to two quotas:
- the first five installments are R $ 1,200,
- the last four installments are R $ 600.
